Founded by Zéphirin Forestier in 1907, the company experienced several major and important phases in its history before becoming the group it is today.
The first decades.
The company's initial activity, the transport of live animals, gradually shifted towards the transport of hanging meat, then, in the late 1950s, towards the rental of self-drive refrigerated trucks.
1970 - 1995: the construction of the national network.
The first Petit Forestier depot opened in Bordeaux in the early 1970s. The national network built up rapidly, reaching extremely dense national coverage by the end of the 1990s, making Petit Forestier leader in the refrigerated truck rental and contract hire market.
1995 - 2005: specialisation and expertise, the cold chain and nothing but the cold chain!
Petit Forestier acquired complete mastery of the cold chain, integrating its partner companies, which provided complementary technical skills and synergies, particularly Lecapitaine for bodywork and Relec Froid for refrigeration units.
Alongside this, Petit Forestier completed its range of products with its buyout of Pro-System Group, European leader in refrigerated storage and display unit rental, which is now Petit Forestier Meubles.
Today, Europe is the major vector of the group's development.
The conquest of the European market started in 1996, with a first depot opening in Brussels, followed by many others.
Today, our Group is present in Luxembourg, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Poland, Portugal, Italy, and has just opened its first site in Morocco, North Africa.
